Ubud
is a village located in Gianyar district. The origin of the name Ubud comes
from the word "Ubad" in Balinese which means medicine. Starting from
the arrival of Rsi Markandya, a Hindu priest who meditated and settled in
Campuhan. Campuhan is a meeting of two rivers, Wos Barat and Wos Timur, and is
believed to be able to cure all diseases or as a ubad (medicine).Ubud is famous
among foreign tourists because of its beautiful natural scenery and Ubud is
known for its very fast and advanced arts and culture. Ubud has a diverse
tourist area, one of which is Subak Sok Wayah with a safe and peaceful rural
atmosphere.
Subak
Sok Wayah is a narrow pathway that winds its way from Ubud town center out to
the unspoiled rice terrace fields. Road access along Subak Sok Wayah cannot be
traversed by cars, it can only be traversed by pedestrians and motorbikes. But don’t
worry about that if you have to walk in Subak Sok Wayah, because you will be
greeted by beautiful scenery along the way and free entry. Attractive rice
fields will accompany you throughout the trip. In Subak Sok Wayah there are
also lodgings such as villas, bungalows, guest houses with views of rice fields
that have a price that has been plagued.
So
around us there are actually many tourist objects that can potentially be used
as tourist attractions to advance the economy of the surrounding community. We
should look for that potential and develop it to become a famous tourist
attraction like Subak Sok Wayah. (Widya Novianti- MBP 5B – 20)
