At Batu Kursi Temple
In Bali lot of tourist spend their holiday mostly in south part of Bali, but what about northern Bali? What does this part of the island represent? Well, this part is barely untouched, their natural attractions are like no other. The regency of Buleleng, for one, is well-known for its waterfalls and beaches. What you may or may not know is that Buleleng has a place that offers a blend of spiritual and nature tourism. It’s called Batu Kursi Temple. Surrounding the temple area is a panoramic view of the greenish and grassy just like the view of Campuhan Hill in Ubud, Gianyar or maybe the ones that you see on the Teletubbies series as a child.
Batu Kursi Temple is located in Pemuteran Village, Gerokgak District, Buleleng Regency. It is 122 KM from Denpasar about 3 hours to reach the location of the Batu Kursi Temple. Batu Kursi Temple also close to another famous temple in Bali such as Pulaki Temple, Melanting Temple, and Kertakawat Temple.
The origin of naming this place is of course there is a story that lies behind. Named Batu Kursi because at the top of the hill stands a temple where there is a large stone about 20 meters in diameter and shaped chair. Bhatara Lingsir Bagawan Cakru Geni is prayed in this temple, which is still related to Pucak Manik Temple.
In the beginning, around 1984, according to residents, no one realized that the stone was shaped like a chair, people only considered ordinary mountain stones, their existence was discovered only after a psychic (paranormal) named Jro Nyoman Cara experienced obstruction or trance when doing tapa on the stone. Also Anak Agung from Pamecutan Castle who received a blessings that around the hill there was a stone shaped chair or Batu Makorsi, from these noxious instructions it was finally realized the existence of this place.
Many unique and strange things are also often found in the area of pura Bukit Kursi in Pemuteran, such as a very large trail of tiger claws on an palm tree which is believed that the ruler who has a temple in this temple is sharpening his nails. Pura Bukit Batu Kursi is also believed to be asking for instructions for a position in jobs as well as asking for luck based on a pure and sincere heart.
In this temple there is no entrance fee to the temple but only charged Rp. 5,000 for parking. Besides the Hindus who go here to pray, travelers from all the over world also enjoy the place for its calming scenery, the swing, and also the setting is exactly perfect for picnic and trekking. It’s definitely an ideal place for those of you who have an adventurous spirit!
