BAYUNGGEDE
TOURISM VILLAGE
Bayunggede Village is located in Bayunggede Village, Kintamani district, Bangli Regency,
Bali Province. Located about 35 kilometers north of Bangli. Bayunggede Village
is one of the Bali Aga Villages that still insists on preserving the traditions
and traditional values of Balinese life. In fact, this village is a
traditional village which is the parent of another ancient traditional village
in Bangli. Bayunggede Village is an ancient village in Bali that is still
preserved. This old village is between 800-900 meters above sea level, so the
temperature here is cold and cool, which allows farmers to plant crops such as
coffee, oranges, corn, and vegetables.
Actually,
Bayunggede Village was developed into a new tourism village around 2010 ago,
but this village is not too famous as the Penglipuran Village which is already
famous even to overseas. Its name is not yet very popular as a tourist
destination, but this village has many unique cultures and traditions for us to
be closer to the real Balinese culture. So that it is still very necessary to
do promotion to the Bayunggede village so that it is more famous.
The facilities
available in Bayunggede Tourism Villages such as, ticketing pos, parking area,
rest room, trash can, health centers, temple, cloth and scarves (when there are
guests who want to enter the Bayunggede Village temple area, they must use cloth
and scarves). For tickets to enter the Bayunggede Village until now still
donations as true as possible. In the meantime there is not have restaurant in
Bayunggede Tourism Village, but don't worry because there are many restaurants
near the village which are about 2 km away from Bayunggede tourism village,
such as Batur Sari Restaurant, Grand Puncak Sari Restaurant, Gong Dewata
Restaurant and other. There are also not have hotels in the village of
Bayunggede.
For
accessibility to Bayunggede Tourism Village is good. Where facilities and
infrastructure to the Bayunggede Tourism Village have been good, starting from
the paved highway and roads in the village environment have been paped. The
livelihoods of the communities in Bayunggede are mostly farmers.
Activities
that can be done in the Bayunggede Tourism Villages, including cycling,
farming, playing traditional games (metajogan and meguak-guakan) and offroad.
But for the traditional game and offroad only done on certain events. There are
several ceremonies or traditions that are owned by the Bayunggede Village which
if not owned by other villages one of them is the tradition of "Ngusaba
Lampuan" which is held every 5 years. The following is a process of

icon of the Bayunggede Tourism Village is the setra ari-ari and unique culture

The
Placenta Grave (Setra Ari-Ari)
Bayunggede Village has a unique tradition in
burying the placenta (Ari-ari) of a new born baby. If in general the baby's
umbilical cord is planted on the ground, in this village it is placed in
coconut shells and hung on a tree at a special "setra" (grave) which
is located behind the village and the tradition of putting a placenta (Ari-ari)
in a coconut shell has been going on for hundreds of years then

The architecture of a traditional house in
Bayunggede is also quite unique so that it has the potential to become a
tourist attraction. Traditional buildings in Bayunggede with traditional
architecture with wooden pillars with shingle roofs and bamboo, are ancient
buildings designed with earthquake resistance. access to settlements through a
large road in the middle of a settlement, at a glance like in the village of
Penglipuran, Bangli. From the main road there are small, one-meter long alleys
that lead to each house. The shape of the building uses more material from
bamboo.

Especially the location in the direction of other tourist attractions in Kintamani such as Penelokan, Mountain Batur and Lake Batur. This village is now developing into a tourism village that maintains its ancestral heritage and local cultural wisdom that deserve to be developed more widely in order to be more famous.
